Our history
The Baytree Bar and Bistro in Retford, located near the canal and fire station, occupies a building that was historically used as The Corporation Wharf's warehouse around 1938. The site has transformed from an industrial, canal-side location into a popular eatery, Graham established the bay tree in 1997 then sold it to Louise who sold it back to Graham then the baytree passed to Christopher Skelding taking over as owner in May 2022 to develop the business further. Then the baytree was sold to it's current owner Gemma in 2024. Who is carrying on the tradition of making it a peaceful and enjoyable place to have a drink and a bite to eat.
